SHINEDOWN Frontman Comments On Top 10 Debut

July 3, 2008

Atlantic Records recording group SHINEDOWN landed the biggest debut of its career yesterday (Wednesday, July 2) when its third album, "The Sound Of Madness", sold 50,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at #8 on the Billboard Top 200. This marks the first Top 10 album of the band's career.

"We put a lot of work into this record," commented lead singer Brent Smith. "I was determined from the beginning to make an album that people would feel was important to them and the world around them. I know we've accomplished that, and it seems that not only our fans but a lot of new fans are reacting to what they're hearing. We're very thankful for that."

Produced by multiple Grammy Award winner Rob Cavallo (KID ROCK, GREEN DAY, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE),SHINEDOWN's new CD got off to a monstrous start with the first single, "Devour", becoming the band's eighth consecutive Top 5 hit at rock radio.

The Jacksonville, Florida-based rock outfit will be out on tour all summer along in support of its new album.
